Pura Vida

Algodões Beach · Maraú Peninsula · Bahia, Brazil

A quiet house, a few steps from the sea.

A small, pared-back guest house in a fishing village in southern Bahia. A few rooms, a great deal of quiet, a hammock on the veranda and the beach right there. Which is what the Maraú Peninsula is for.

  • 4-minute walk to the beach
  • Pet friendly
  • Surf lessons through the house

The house

Simple by choice, comfortable by care.

Pura Vida is a small house, and we welcome every guest ourselves. Light rooms, wood, natural fibres and nothing in excess: we leave the scenery to Algodões. Breakfast, boat trips and transfers are arranged on WhatsApp before you arrive, so all you have to do is get here and rest.

The village has few cars, a great deal of green and a strip of white sand that runs for kilometres. At night you can hear the sea.

The place

Algodões, the quiet side of the Maraú Peninsula.

A fishing village between Barra Grande and Taipu de Fora, still barely touched: white sand, coconut palms and clear water. Here the day is measured by the tide.

Natural pools
Taipu de Fora is a few minutes away by car, with snorkelling at low tide.
A quiet village
Few cars, restaurants with their feet in the sand and real silence.
Living nature
Mangroves, rivers, trails and waterfalls all around the peninsula.

Things to do

We arrange it all before you arrive.

Surf lessons

Your first wave or your next one, with a board and an instructor from the village itself.

Boat trips

Natural pools, Pedra Furada island, the mangroves and the empty beaches of the peninsula.

Transfers and trails

We organise your ride from Camamu or Barra Grande and point you to the best walks.

We left genuinely rested. The house is beautiful and the welcome is the best part.
